Jac Cole, Winemaker, and Ami IadarolaAfter graduating from the University of California Berkeley with a degree in Biology, Jac pursued his growing passion for winemaking in the Masters Program in Enology at California State University Fresno. Before becoming winemaker at Spring Mountain Vineyard, Jac began as an intern at Chateau St. Jean in Sonoma County, and from there, gained experience and expertise at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Stags' Leap Winery, and S. Anderson Vineyards in the Napa Valley.
Bella Vetta is the label Jac and his wife Ami Iadarola, a Napa Valley native who works as controller at Joseph Phelps Winery, have established to make their own wines. They live on their two-acre vineyard on Howell Mountain.
Bay Area natives and Sonoma County residents since 1973, Sherman and Shelley have long been interested in food and wine. Although they both enjoy careers outside the wine industry, Sherman has experience working on the bottling line at Geyser Peak Winery and in the tasting room for Cline Cellars. Their first effort at making zinfandel from a late harvest of Alexander Valley grapes resulted in what is now a 27-year old port.
